Enable MoboLink Trial on WindowsCE Devices

Target Devices

This document is intended for the following devices:

PA692	PA692 WM6.5 Phone PA692 WM6.5 Classic
PA820	PA820 WM6.5
HT682	HT682 CE6.0 WiFi

OS Version Prerequisite

In order for MoboLink to work, the OS Image Version needs to meet certain requirements. The following table lists the OS version required for each of the model. If your device OS version does not meet this requirement, please upgrade your device OS image first.

Software Prerequisites

Third party software providing Remote Desktop function is required. Please choose one of the following two VNC Server software to install.

EfonVNC 4.3

This is a VNC Server that runs on your Windows Mobile/CE devices. Please download this software if your devices do not run behind a NAT network, otherwise please use the MobileVNC software listed below instead. Download Link: Click Here to Download Install Instructions: 1. Create a folder called "MobileVNC" in your device's "Internal Storage" 2. On you PC, Unzip efonvnc_unitech.zip, and then copy all the extracted files into Your Device\Internal Storage\MobileVNC Download Source Code: Click Here for Source Code

MobileVNC

This is a VNC Server that runs on your Windows Mobile/CE devices. Please download this software if your devices will run behind a NAT network. Download Link: Click Here to Download Install Instructions: 1. Create a folder called "MobileVNC" in your device's "Internal Storage" 2. On you PC, Unzip MobileVNC_Demo.zip, and then copy all the files inside the ZIP file folder "MobileVNC_Demo.zip\Demo\WindowsCE\ARM" into Your Device\Internal Storage\MobileVNC View Software License Agreement Click Here for License Agreement

Device Configuration to Enable MoboLink

Please use the steps below to enable MoboLink Trial:
Step1:
Upgrade your device OS if it does not meet the OS Version Requirement above.

Step2:
Install one of the the VNC Server third party software listed above (choose one).

Step3:
Copy the downloaded BootstrapServerURL.dat to your device's Flash Storage.

Step4:
Edit Autoexec.txt located in Your Device\Flash Storage\Autoexec.txt
(Note: if your device does not contain this file, create one).

Step5:
Insert this command line to the beginning of the Autoexec.txt file:
   \Windows\MoboLink\DMProcedure.exe

Step6:
Configure your device's network adapter (WiFi/3G) so it is able to connect to the public internet

Step7:
Reboot (warm boot) the device.
